We came back into the hospital Tuesday for another 5 day chemo. Since they are moving it up every day, we should be able to leave here by 5:30 on Saturday. At least that gives us part of the weekend at home.
Last weekend was great. We were really glad to be able to stay home and celebrate Brie’s birthday. She had such a great time. We decorated the house after she went to bed so she was surprised when she woke up; she got to have cake pops and ice cream cake (her two favorites); and she got everything she wanted. It was really nice to have a whole day for her. She’s such a great little kid. When we come to the hospital, she gets shuffled around and goes for days without seeing us, but she is so good. She never complains and has fun wherever she goes. I am so thankful for her. She makes me smile so much and brings so much happiness to all our lives.
Roxy is doing really well so far this stay. The medication has kept her from getting nauseous. Other than some soreness and a lot of annoying hiccups, she has been feeling pretty good. It’s going to be a long few weeks, though. We get out of here on Saturday, have a week off, and then we are back in for 5 more days. Chances are that we will have a little more than a week off since her counts are getting really slow in coming back up. In any case, it’s going to be tough to come right back. I’m really really really really hoping she doesn’t get a fever because that will mean we are back here during our week off (and for at least 3 days). So, please focus your prayers on keeping Roxy fever-free starting Saturday.
Thanks to all of you again for everything. I’ll write more soon.
